All Seventh and Eighth grade students have the opportunity of traveling to see Chicago Symphony Orchestra and members of the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre put on a performance on Romeo and Juliet!
We received free tickets to the event but have to pay for the buses. The bus will cost $4.50.
Please return the form to you child's homeroom teacher on Monday.
All K-3 room parents should have been in contact with you regarding the assembly details for this week and next. I will post here as well so everyone is aware!
I also have the files attached for at home practice.
Thank you all for your involvement and support!
Below are the audio files for some of the performances for the Winter Assembly.
Hey All! Here is the flyer for the Winter Assembly. Your children are very talented, and I am very happy to put this performance together. We welcome all family and friends to our public performance on Dec. 11th, so please share this flyer as you wish!
We have some exciting things starting this week at Stone.
To start, our Primary Grade students will be starting to study cultures around the worlds' Holiday Celebrations and learning songs for each. Each class will be performing a selection for the Holiday Assembly in December. Parents will be able to vie the performance December 11th, at 9am. Your children will be performing for their schoolmates the day prior 2 times.
Our 4th and 5th graders will be beginning our unit on recorder this week. There will be a recorder performance at the Holiday assembly, but only students who audition and show out of school practice skills will be selected to perform.
Sixth grade students will begin to study the aspects of an effective melody and composing their own using noteflight.com
Sending a quick update from White Pines to let you know about a great opportunity to expose your students to concert music this weekend.
My choir, Chicago Chamber Choir, is providing complimentary tickets to all students of CCC singers. We are really trying to grow our impact on the students of Chicago and think an easy first step is exposing them to our beautiful music.
Below is the Digital "Ticket" for their complimentary entrance. Please download this and show the ushers at each venue for entrance. You DO NOT have to print this, but if you prefer to print rather than use the digital version, you may.
Thank you in advance for your support!
I have exciting news! I just found out that I will be assistant directing the Elementary and High School choirs for the West region of All City Performing Arts.
If you or another CPS student you know is interested, sign up for the orientation here.
The audition orientation is THIS SATURDAY (Sept. 26)
More information on the audition and regional ensemble details here.
I hope some of you come out and get to sing with me!

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Mr. Anderson and a few of his colleagues were here today to provide your 4th and 5th grade students the opportunity to "test drive" two different instruments for our concert band.
Your student should have a form with them with an instrument circled or starred as the recommended instrument for beginning band.
If you would like to speak to Mr. Anderson directly about the program, he will be here tomorrow, Thursday September 17, from 3:00pm-4:00pm.
You are not required to come tomorrow to participate in Band. If you would prefer, you can sign your student up by phone or computer.
The website is here. Clock the link to register for band then use the school code: STONE.
I am so excited your students will have this opportunity! It is something a lot of schools cannot provide.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
